Creating a grid for transfer or enlarging your photos

We are going to take a step by step journey on creating a grid for transfering and enlarging your favorite photos to your drawing surface. In this first step, I will tell you what you will need to get started.

The first thing you will need is your drawing surface, a 36" ruler or yard stick, a 2B graphite pencil, and or course your photo. You will need to make a copy of your photo as you will be marking directly on the photo copy.

  • The first step is to trim your photo to the exact image you wish to grid.

  • Next, you will need to decide if you image will be horizontal or vertical.

  • Decide on the size of your drawing surface(I will be using an 18"x24" size for this demo).

So, go get your stuff and let's get started---
